Dr. Amy Lugo
Biography
Dr. Lugo has more than a decade of experience in managed care as a Clinical Specialist and Formulary Manager for the DoD and TRICARE. Her expertise includes supporting the P&T Committee, formulary management, pharmacoeconomic analysis, pharmacy benefit design, data analytics, and utilization management.
Prior to being in managed care, she has previous experience in a variety of practice settings including academia and health-system pharmacy as a clinical specialist in primary care, inpatient family medicine and internal medicine, as clinical coordinator, and director of pharmacy residency programs.
Dr. Lugo is passionate about giving back to the profession and has many years of volunteer service with AMCP, APhA, and ASHP. She received her PharmD from the University of Florida in 2002, completed a primary care residency in Asheville, NC (2003) and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM).
She enjoys mentoring students and residents, being mom and chauffeur to 10 year old Emma Grace, and cheering on her Florida Gators.
